Training: Start off by smithing bronze equipments until around level 18. Then make Perfect World Gold iron equipments until level 30.

During the process of leveling your smithing level from 15 to 30 can take some time because smelting iron ores only has a 50% rate of succession and smithing bronze equipments doesn’t really give that much exp, plus you have to get 2 types of ore.

From level 30 and on smith steel equipments, Steel is considered the most efficient way to level up smithing.

Smithing requires the use of mining, so you’ll be able to get both mining and smithing exp. If you are a member and your crafting and magic level is high, then make a few enchanted ruby rings.

Ruby rings will give you 100% of being able to smelt iron ores. It will be used up after 100 uses. If you can’t make a ring of forging, then buy one from other players.

However, if you are not a member and don’t have the benefit of getting a 100% chance of being able to smelt iron ores then you should stick with making steel bars to level up your smithing.
